Job Description

Underwriting Training Professional

Overview:
NJ-based national insurer seeks group insurance (Life, Disability, Long Term Care) underwriting training professional. As a key member of the firm's Group Insurance organization, you will play a critical role in the development and delivery of group insurance underwriting training programs for new hires and experienced underwriting staff members. This position reports to the Training Vice President with exposure to senior management.

Responsibilities:
Work with Training Vice President in the design, development and delivery of group insurance underwriting programs encompassing Life, Disability. Long Term Care and other group insurance products.

Scope, schedule, manage and deliver comprehensive training and educational programs and job aides directed to underwriting staff to improve performance.

Partner with subject matter experts in the development, content and delivery of training programs and events as required.

Develop and tailor training programs to maximize efficiencies through use of multi mediums including, virtual classroom, teleconferences, traditional classroom training and regional/local training events.

Develop and manage departmental training schedules relevant to assigned programs.

Prepare and manage training projects cost projections and budgets within corporate and unit objectives.

Prepare reports, executive summaries, activities and progress reports to support the Officer in Charge in all training and educational initiatives including, but not limited to, development and ongoing management of departmental training schedules, events, programs, and budgets within corporate and unit objectives.

Requirements:
Bachelors (BBA/BA/BS) degree required.
Experience 3-6yrs.underwriting or related professional training experience required.
Strong oral and written communications skills required.
Knowledge of group life, disability, and long-term care products coupled with industry funding methodologies a plus.
Proficiencies in PC/Internet, Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word desired.
Training certifications from industry organizations (Langevin, American Society for Training and Development) a plus.

Salary/Benefits:
$70,000 - $90,000 salary commensurate with experience
